World Cup season started!

Gstaad-Scott arrived in South Africa and the first world cup of the season is up and running!

Brendan Fairclough on a Scott Genius LT

The team is currently already training on the track that had led to so many discussions because of it’s long pedalling section. Gstaad-Scott’s Brendan Fairclough even decided to ride on the Scott Genius LT enduro bike instead of his Gambler Downhill bike. The race will tell if this was the right decision.

This is different
In fact, things work a bit different at this first world cup, as the riders have to deal with very few training runs due to long ways to the start, and the media have to try to deal with impossible internet connections.
Therefore, the GoPro course preview presented by Velosolutions is not online even after 36hours. The responsibles have now driven to Durban to upload from there. We try to deliver it as soon as it has gone up online.
There was some improvisation needed by our mechanics to set up the paddock, but it all came out well.

Brendan Fairclough, Emilie Siegenthaler and Patrick Thome feel well on the track. Saturday will tell if their training through the winter worked well.
Noel Niederberger had a crash during his practice on Thursday, and it looks like he can’t race this weekend as his knee seems to be injured.

What felt like a small little crash to Noel turned out to be this….

Downhill Finals on Saturday!
Be aware that the downhill finals are now on Saturdays, so if you want to see the race live, you have to tune in to redbull.com/bike already tomorrow!
