What an exciting weekend in Austria!
Junior Noel Niederberger placed 4th in his first world championships ever! The medals were taken by highly experienced riders but this was Noel's first big result, and it came just in the right moment!
Floriane Pugin was feeling very fast on the track in Leogang, and she was in the game for gold. At the final day though, three others were slightly faster than her. Floriane missed the bronze medal by 0.1 second, and gold by 1.6 seconds. It was very tough for Floriane, but she will be going for revenge at the world cup finals in Hafjell, Norway in 2 weeks.
Team Manager Claudio Caluori, who jumped in as a racer for Scott11 for Brendan Fairclough, – had nothing but a great time on the course. Just like Noel Niederberger, Caluori was trying out something completely new with his tires. While it worked incredibly well for Noel, Claudio took the experiment a little too far and ripped the rear tire off his rim in a big wall ride. The crowds highly appreciated that Claudio continued at full speed all the way to the finish line.
We're now on our w
ay to our favorite bike park in Châtel, France, for the IXS European Downhill Cup. From Châtel, we will drive straight to Norway for the World Cup Finals. Brendan will be back racing, – it's time for revenge!
